Musubu ("the Service") is a web-based Japanese kanji learning tool that helps users explore kanji through word relationship graphs, track learning progress, and generate example sentences using AI. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Musubu, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
3. Accounts
You may use limited features as a guest, or register an account for full functionality. When registering, you agree to:
- Provide a unique username and a secure password.
- Keep your login credentials confidential and not share your account.
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Subscription & Payment Terms
Musubu offers a free tier and a Premium subscription.
- Premium is billed at $1.99 per month, processed securely through Stripe.
- Your subscription renews automatically each month until canceled.
- You may cancel at any time through the subscription management portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain Premium access until then.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us if you believe you were charged in error.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, the server, or any connected systems.
- Abuse the AI sentence generation feature (e.g., using it for purposes unrelated to language learning, or attempting to circumvent usage limits).
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the operation of the Service.
- Use automated tools to access the Service in a way that places excessive load on our infrastructure.
6. Intellectual Property
Our content. The Musubu name, logo, design, and code are the property of Musubu. Dictionary data is sourced from publicly available linguistic databases.
Your content. You retain ownership of any custom sentences or notes you create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content to you as part of the Service.
AI-generated content. Sentences generated by the AI feature are provided for educational use. We make no claim of ownership over AI-generated sentences, nor do we guarantee their accuracy.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- AI-generated sentences will be accurate, natural, or free of errors.
- The Service will meet your specific learning requirements.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Musubu and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data or learning progress, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify active Premium subscribers of significant changes.

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
